A WHO-funded consultancy engagement to assess and modernise the existing Health Information Management System at National Hospital Kandy — introducing EHR, MPI, and telemedicine capabilities to transform patient care across Sri Lanka.
Sri Lanka's most critical hospitals were operating siloed, legacy systems — leaving patient records fragmented, care uncoordinated, and NCD clinics dependent on paper-based workflows that couldn't scale.
What We Delivered
A vast number of patients seek treatment at National Hospital Kandy, making it one of Sri Lanka's most critical healthcare institutions. Maintaining high standards of care and treating all patients within specified timeframes is paramount.
This WHO-funded engagement tasked us with providing technical expertise and strategic consultancy to upgrade NHK's existing HIMS — improving its EHR capabilities, implementing a Master Patient Index, and enabling nationwide interoperability.
We collected data from both users and non-users of the existing system, then restructured the architecture to deliver better clinical service — enabling NHK to run its NCD clinics electronically and share patient data bi-directionally with connected PMCIs.
