A GIZ-funded digital portal for vocational training institutes in North and East Sri Lanka — making courses, scholarships, job opportunities, and graduate success stories discoverable to attract the next generation of skilled workers.
Vocational training institutes in Sri Lanka's North and East had high-quality programs but no digital presence — leaving prospective students unaware of available courses, scholarships, and the real career outcomes that vocational education delivers.
What We Built
Designed and developed by Loons Lab in collaboration with GLIDE for GIZ (Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit), this portal targets vocational training institutes in Sri Lanka's North and East provinces.
The platform is built to attract more students to vocational training programs — by showing detailed course content for each module, highlighting scholarship and job opportunities, and building aspiration through graduate success stories.
The system was completed and fully tested by June 2019. It is ready for deployment, held back only by policy decisions and administrative transitions within the client organisation.
